Following the full council meeting on 08 September, we are pleased to welcome two new councillors to Shepton Mallet Town Council. The two casual vacancies were filled by co-option at the full town council meeting. Our new councillors are Gemma Kayum and Tim O’Connor.

 

Gemma Kayum is a mother of four who has worked with children with additional needs for over 20 years.

Gemma is particularly interested in:
☑️ Making a positive difference to the experiences of children, young people and vulnerable adults in our community.
☑️ Working with and strengthening the many community groups and initiatives active in our town.
☑️ Promoting Shepton as a great place to live, work and visit.

 

Tim O’Connor is by day a Pensions Manager, by night involved in the world of comedy and the arts and in

between, finds time for a love of sport, especially football. Tim is particular interested in: 
☑️ Promoting sports, fitness and well-being in Shepton for and making these activities more accessible to everyone.
☑️ Supporting and promoting the local arts & culture scene – Tim is himself involved in a variety of groups.
☑️ Working for everyone in Shepton and hearing out new ideas for our town.
