This year it’s the Second Annual Shepton on Show, a unique and innovative event grown in Shepton Mallet. The evening gives local businesses and organisations, whether on or off the high street, the opportunity to market themselves in a fun, vibrant and theatrical way- it will showcase the town’s friendliness and fine independent spirit and help to change outdated perceptions people may have about Shepton. It will also give visitors a chance to walk the streets of Shepton and enjoy something you can’t find anywhere else.
Over 30 shopkeepers, business owners and artists are involved in this year’s event. They will be using shop windows as their stages; as they will be behind glass the event is naturally covid-safe.
Last year’s windows featured a fabulously eclectic range of performances, from mime artists and historical figures to Shepton Mallet’s very own Fairy Godmother. This year: expect the unexpected.
The event will run from 6 – 8 pm on Friday 23rd October and will include the length of the High Street as well as parts of Commercial Road, Town Street and around Market Cross. People can also use the opportunity to see the birds featured in the Shepton Bird Trail.
