Finally, the good weather made an appearance on Saturday as the finale of the Summer in Shepton series was held in Collett Park and a couple of hundred residents sat down to enjoy a free circus show from the amazing Bullzini family. This internationally renowned circus act entertained the crowds with their simple but hilarious act and was a fitting end to our series of free events put on for residents throughout the summer. Over the past few months we’ve hosted a skate jam at the skate park, lots of Fairy Godmother story-telling sessions, family yoga in the park, a play equipment building workshop, comedy, music and lots more besides! Given the success of the programme, we’ve decided to plan a Winter Series to provide a series of events over the autumn and winter period and encourage footfall to the high street and market place and venues across town. If you are part of a music, singing, comedy or other arts/community group who may wish to run a Town Council funded event or workshop, please let the Town Council know you’d like to get involved by emailing info@sheptonmallet-tc.gov.uk.

A short update this week since we’re all focused on getting things ready for the new school term next Monday.

Good luck getting the new school shoes, lunchboxes and uniforms ready!

Until next time,

Matt Harrison
