Ceremony

The Royal British Legion is hosting a short ceremony at our Cenotaph on Sunday 11th September at 10:00am. Members of the public are welcome to attend.

Local Proclamation

The Right Worshipful the Mayor of Wells, Cllr Stewart Cursley will deliver the Proclamation of the new Monarch. It will be held at 3:00pm on Sunday 11th September at Wells Town Hall. The public are welcome to observe the Local Proclamation.

Book of condolence

The book of condolence will be opened at Shepton Mallet Town Council offices. The office is open 9:00am-4:30pm Tuesday-Thursday.

An online book of condolence is open on The Royal Family website.

Floral Tributes

The Chair of Shepton Mallet Town Council, Cllr Matthew Harrison has laid flowers at the Cenotaph on behalf of both the Royal British Legion and Shepton Mallet Town Council.

The Chair of Mendip District Council, Cllr Helen Sprawson-White, has laid a wreath outside Highfield House, Cannards Grave Road. Floral tributes can be placed on the grass area in front of the House.
