Shepton Mallet Town Council are in full Christmas spirit with the Winter Series well underway and the final planning stages of the annual Christmas Lights Switch On, taking place on Saturday 3rd December from 6:30-7:30pm.
The evening will see entertainment by street performer, Chris Bullzini and music from the Mendip Brass Band. Festive eats and drinks will be provided by Stone’s Cider and Denelas Bakery, and served out by the Rotary Club.
Father Christmas will be joining Town Crier, Andy Neal and Chair, Cllr Matt Harrison to lead the countdown for the Christmas Lights Switch On, which will see the Christmas Tree and town centre spectacularly illuminated for the festive season. We will be entertained by another special performance on the night but we’ll keep this one closer to our chests.
As part of the Winter Series, the festive activities continue throughout December with everything from Wreath Making and Stained Glass Workshops, Victorian Fayre Market, Woodland Tribe Christmas Build and Windsor Wonderland Christmas Market at Rock Farm and much much more.
Remember, you also still have time to sign up to the free workshops for the Lantern Festival, taking place from the end of November leading up to the spectacular event on Saturday 17th December. All workshops are taking place at the Paul Street Community Centre. Book your place and find out more at www.sheptonlanternfestival.org.uk.
