As record numbers of people are looking for advice and emergency support, Citizens Advice Mendip, Shepton Mallet Town Council, and Mendip District Council (now Somerset Council) have worked together to open a self-service kiosk at the Town Council that lets you contact an advisor by email or phone, or access information on the Citizens Advice website.
Feedback has shown that people like the anonymity and ability to access information at a time that suits them.
Ian Byworth, CEO of Citizens Advice Mendip, comments: ” With increasing numbers of people turning to us, we’re opening these kiosks to provide greater and easier access to our advice services”
Claire Commons, Town Clerk at Shepton Mallet Town Council, said: “This facility has already been put to good use, we are really pleased to be able to offer a home for the kiosk and work with Citizens Advice Mendip in supporting residents in and around the town.”
