Being able to use a defibrillator quickly and effectively can mean the difference in saving a life in your community.
We are running a free training session, hosted by South Western Ambulance Service, to enable the public to use these resources in the event of an emergency.

A victim’s chance of survival falls by around 7 to 10 percent with every minute that defibrillation is delayed. When a heart stops beating, oxygen is not being transported to the brain and other vital organs, and within four to five minutes, brain damage will start to occur without intervention.
There are three publicly accessible defibrillators around Shepton Mallet, put in place for any member of the public to use in an emergency.
