During Somerset Art Weeks Festival ’19, 21 Sept – 6 Oct, ACE-funded arts project ‘B-Wing’ is making site-responsive contemporary artworks in the unique spaces of B-Wing, Shepton Mallet Prison.
As part of the project, B-Wing is offering a one-off free 3 hour art workshop for adults at The Art Bank, Shepton Mallet. The workshop will involve creating a collaborative artwork, to be exhibited as part of the B-Wing exhibition.  Led by experienced artist/educator Fiona Campbell.
During the workshop we will construct sculptures from donated, recycled and found objects/materials, exploring different construction techniques: eg: wrapping, weaving, binding, twisting, securing wire. The outcome will be a piece of work as part of multiples for exhibition in B-Wing.   The collaborative artwork will allow participants to contribute & experience their work becoming part of a major exhibition.
* Please bring 2-3 special objects/possessions that hold a memory or had a value to you, but are no longer wanted.  Any size up to 75cms aprx.
